What Is Hemp?

Hemp has been a staple in Ayurveda and Chinese medicine since ancient times, but it’s only recently that the Western world has realized the potential benefits of Hemp derivatives.

While Hemp is a Cannabis plant, it doesn’t have any psychoactive side effects or produce a “high.” Instead, Hemp reacts with your dog’s Endocannabinoid System, or ECS. All mammals have an ECS, and it’s simply the group of cell receptors that respond to cannabinoids, or compounds sourced from Cannabis. The ECS plays a role in a number of important bodily functions, which is why Pure Paws Hemp may have such powerful benefits.

What Is CBD?

CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of the many naturally occurring compounds found within the Hemp plant. CBD is non-psychoactive and is used for a variety of reasons due the potential relief it may offer.

Do Pure Paws Hemp products contain Marijuana?

Our CBD products are not Marijuana products. While Hemp and Marijuana are both members of the Cannabis family, the plants differ in composition. Marijuana contains high levels of Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, a substance associated with getting “high.” In contrast, Hemp plants contain less than 0.3 percent THC and do not produce psychoactive effects. Additionally, our CBD products are federally legal, and your pet will not feel intoxicated when using our products.

Can I give Pure Paws Hemp products to animals other than dogs?

There’s no risk associated with giving our CBD products to cats or other pets. We recommend talking to a veterinarian before adding CBD to your pet’s diet.

Can I give CBD to my puppy?

Customers regularly ask us whether they can give CBD to young dogs. We recommend talking to your veterinarian before introducing anything new into your puppy’s daily regimen.

How much CBD should my dog take?

We recommend starting with a lower serving amount – CBD could make your dog sleepy thanks to its calming properties. Visit our comprehensive intake guide for the recommended serving size of CBD Oil based on your dog's weight. The general guidelines for CBD servings for dogs are as follows:

  • 5-25 pounds: 1 milligram
  • 25-40 pounds: 2 milligrams
  • 40-55 pounds: 3 milligrams
  • 55-70 pounds: 4 milligrams
  • 70-85 pounds: 5 milligrams
  • 85-100 pounds: 6 milligrams
  • 100 to 115 pounds: 7 milligrams
  • 115 to 130 pounds: 8 milligrams
  • 130 pounds or more: 9-10 milligrams

Why did my online order fail?

There are many reasons why your online order may have failed, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Here are some of the most common errors along with possible solutions.

  1. Incorrect Credit Card Number/Missing CVV: Make sure that you’ve entered your card information correctly and have included the three-digit security code usually found on the back of bank cards.
  2. Incorrectly Flagged As Fraudulent: Your bank may have incorrectly deemed the charge fraudulent and canceled it as a result. We recommend calling your credit card company or bank and telling them to allow the charge.
  3. Blacklisted Card Information: If you’ve filed credit card charge-backs or returned several orders, our merchant processing system may deem your account blacklisted. You can call your credit card company to find out more about this issue.

How long will it take to receive my order?
